How to automate launching Ditto Receiver on an Apple TV 4K/HD without an MDM solution
The following setup for automating the Ditto Receiver Application launching on an Apple TV 4K/HD requires an iOS device to complete the setup. These steps allow you to automate launching the Ditto Receiver for tvOS without the use of an MDM solution.
Note:
- The iOS device used to set up the automation will need to be connected to the same network as the Apple TV Ditto Receivers for this automation to function.
- These instructions are only meant to be used as a workaround for tvOS Ditto Receivers not managed by an MDM.
Step 1: Open the "Shortcuts" application on the iOS device
Step 2: Select "Create Personal Automation"
Step 3: Select "Time of Day"
Step 4: Customize the time for this automation, then select "Next"
Step 5: Select "Add Action"
Step 6: Select "Apps"
Step 7: Select "Apple TV Remote"
Step 8: Select "Wake Apple TV"
Note:
If you see that your shortcut does not have access to Apple TV Remote, then you will need to select "Allow Access" to proceed.
Step 9: Select "Apple TV," then select your Apple TV from the list of available devices
Step 10: Select "+" to add another step to the automation
Step 11: Select "Open App on Apple TV"
Step 12: Select "Apple TV," then select your Apple TV from the list of available devices (repeat step 9)
Step 13: Select "TV" to open the available apps menu for the Apple TV and select "Ditto Receiver"
Step 14: Select "Next"
Step 14: Select "Next" 
Step 15: Disable the "Ask Before Running" setting and select "Don't Ask" in the following popup message
Step 16: Select "Done" and the automation setup is now complete
